Abu
Ubaid, the freed slave of Ibn Azhar, reported: He witnessed the Day of
Eid Al-Adha with Umar ibn Al-Khattab. Umar performed the Eid prayer
before the sermon and then delivered the sermon in front of the people,
saying, “O people, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon
him, has forbidden you to fast on each of these two celebrations, for
one of them is the day of breaking your fast and the other one is the
day on which you offer your sacrifices.”

فِطْرِكُمْ مِنْ صِيَامِكُمْ وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَيَوْمٌ تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْ
نُسُكِكُمْ
5251 صحيح البخاري كِتَاب الذَّبَائِحِ وَالصَّيْدِ لا تأكلوا إلا ثلاثة أيام وليست بعزيمة ولكن أراد أن يطعم منه والله أعلم
